From the New York Times and USA TODAY bestselling author of The Wedding Dress comes another enchanting tale of two women separated by decades who both set out to help others find their dreams when their own have crumbled. Perfect for fans of Garden Spells by Sarah Addison Allen or The Secret Ingredient of Wishes by Susan Bishop Crispell.

It's the early 1930s, but Cora Scott is walking in stride as a career woman after having inherited her great aunt's wedding shop in Heart's Bend, Tennessee, where brides come from as far away as Birmingham to experience her famed bridal treatment. Meanwhile, Cora is counting down the days until her own true love returns from the river to make her his bride. But days turn into months and months into years. All the while, Birch Good continues to woo Cora and tries to show her that while he is solid and dependable, he can also sweep her off her feet.

More than eighty years later, former Air Force Captain Haley Morgan has returned home to Heart's Bend after finishing her commitment to military service. After the devastating death of her best friend, Tammy, and discovering the truth about the man she loved, Haley is searching for her place in life.

When Haley decides to reopen the romantic but abandoned wedding shop where she and Tammy played and dreamed as children, she begins a journey of courage, mystery, and love.

As Cora's and Haley's stories intertwine through time in the shadow of the beloved wedding shop, they both discover the power of their own dreams and the magic of everyday love.

A perfect blend of closed-door romance and magic awaits you in The Wedding Shop, with its themes of faith and forgiveness, community, strong female characters, and unexpected plot twists.

"Rachel Hauck has created a tender, nostalgic story, weaving together two pairs of star-crossed lovers from the present and the past with the magical space that connects them. So full of heart and heartache and redemption, this book is one you'll read long into the night . . ." —Beatriz Williams

"The Wedding Shop is the kind of book I love, complete with flawed yet realistic characters, dual timelines that intersect unexpectedly, a touch of magic, and a large dose of faith. Two breathtaking romances are the perfect bookends for this novel about love, forgiveness, and following your dreams." —Karen White

Cora Scott runs the popular Wedding Shop in 1930s Heart’s Bend, Tenn., attracting brides-to-be from all over the South. She waits anxiously for her lover, riverboat captain Rufus St. Claire, to return and fulfill his promise to marry her, but as the months slip away with no sign of him, a local farmer patiently proves his dedication and worth. In the present day, former Air Force Capitan Haley Morgan returns home to Heart’s Bend from her California base, after a childhood friend’s sudden death from brain cancer sends her reeling. When they were young, the two made a pact to one day reopen the abandoned wedding shop that they would sneak into and imagine what it would be like to be married. To overcome her grief and move forward with her career, Haley decides she will fulfill the pact and reopen Cora’s charming store. Hauck (The Wedding Dress) seamlessly switches back and forth in this redeeming tale of a shop with healing powers for the soul. As Cora and Haley search for solace and love, they find peace in the community of the charming shop. Hauck succeeds at blending similar themes across the time periods, grounding the plot twists in the main characters’ search for redemption and a reinvigoration of their wavering faith. In the third of her winsome wedding-themed standalone novels, Hauck focuses on the power of community to heal a broken heart.

Narrator Windy Lanzl's Southern accent enhances this sweet story of love and faith, which alternates between the lives of two characters. Miss Cora Scott and Haley Morgan live in different time periods in Heart's Bend, Tennessee. Their lives become part of the long history of The Wedding Shop, an old-fashioned store lovingly providing wedding dresses, accessories, kindness, and magical experiences to women for almost 100 years. Lanzl's portrayals are not very inventive or distinctive. There are a few hesitations and some awkward sentence breaks, but the story is so lovely that the listening experience is enjoyable despite its drawbacks. A.C.P. © AudioFile 2016, Portland, Maine

In her third wedding romance, directly following The Wedding Chapel (2015), best-selling Hauck returns to Heart's Bend, Tennessee, where the Wedding Shop occupies a palatial structure built in the late 1800s. When the owner dies, she leaves the store to her niece, Cora Scott, who continues to successfully run the business. But when she dies in 1979, the landmark building falls into disrepair. Haley Morgan and her best friend, Tammy Eason, use it as a hideaway, vowing that someday they'll fix it up. Haley leaves home to be a model, joins the air force, and serves six years as a captain. After Tammy dies, Hayley returns to Heart's Bend and discovers that a developer plans to level the wedding shop. Remembering her pinky swear with Tammy, Hayley decides to thwart the deep-pocketed corporation and restore the wedding shop to its former glory. Tammy's former fiance, Cole Danner, has been offered a six-figure salary to oversee the demolition, but Hayley poses a dilemma. Shouldn't he be part of her team instead? Hauck tells this spellbinding tale of love and independence in chapters that alternate between Cora and Haley, each a strong and fascinating character.(Reprinted with permission of Booklist, copyright 2016, American Library Association.)
