A Bustle Most Anticipated Read for December
An Amazon Best of the Month Selection
"The best of the fairy tale world. Readers will fall head over heels for both the quirky town and the achingly sweet second-chance romance."
—Publishers Weekly STARRED REVIEW
First in a magical new series full of edgy and hilarious antics, this is the read you need to finally give your year the fairy-tale ending it deserves! An enchanting story of love, dreams, and second chances—a delightful read for cold winter nights that fans of Christina Lauren, Tessa Bailey, and Kerry Winfrey can't miss...
If love is the source of all the magic in the universe, and the town of Ever After, Missouri, is the epicenter of enchantment, then the locals are in dire need of a reboot. At least according to resident fairy godmothers Petunia, Jonquil, and Bluebonnet. Their solution? Blow a bit of fairy dust in the direction of those in need of romance. . . . What could possibly go wrong?
SOME KIND OF AWFUL . . .
Lucky Fujiki's first name is a cosmic joke. Her luck is so bad, even the number seven steers clear of her. But when her adorable godmothers ask for a favor, Lucky can't say no. After all, it's just a little one—to save the world's magic. Lucky can already feel the bad juju waiting to strike. And her mission is even worse than she imagined: to promote Ever After as a wedding destination by faking a marriage to her first love and long-time ex, Ransom Payne—he of the Embarrassing Incident that neither of them will ever live down . . .
OR ALL KINDS OF WONDERFUL?
Ransom Payne has spent years building an impressive new reputation for himself, and now his godmothers want him to pretend to wed the one girl he'd like most to forget? Sure, weddings in Ever After could be a huge boon for his chocolate business, but risking more up-close-and-personal time with Lucky? Considering the stakes, it's a curse he'll have to bear, at the risk of being humiliated—or perhaps, bewitched . . .

Starred review from November 9, 2020
The magical small town of Ever After, Mo., takes center stage in this can’t-be-missed paranormal rom-com from DeWylde (My Immortal Knight). Lucky Fujiki is convinced she’s been misnamed—she’s anything but lucky. As a half-kitsune, or Japanese fox spirit, chaos follows Lucky wherever she goes, infecting the lives of those around her—though thankfully her best friend and her three fairy godmothers seem to be immune. When the godmothers approach Lucky for help replenishing Ever After’s dwindling magic supply, she instantly agrees—then she finds out they want her to fake a wedding to her high-profile ex-boyfriend, billionaire chocolatier Ransom Payne. Magic runs on love, and the godmothers hope to use the well-publicized wedding to turn Ever After into a wedding destination and keep the love pouring in. But there are two problems: Lucky and Ransom’s relationship ended in a shared humiliation that has followed Ransom ever since, and Lucky’s still in love with him. What follows takes the best of the fairy tale world, infuses it with modern sensibility and humor, and places the emphasis firmly on personal growth. Readers will fall head over heels for both the quirky town and the achingly sweet second-chance romance. -

Ever After, MO, isn't just a small town with a quirky name; it's a place where magic and fairy tales live and breath, but that magic is slowly dwindling away. Bluebonnet, Jonquil, and Petunia Blossom, the resident fairy godmothers, hatch a plan to solve the problem by giving their godchildren Lucky Fujiki and Ransom Payne the happy ever after they deserve. The trio start by creating a wedding business with a big, splashy fake wedding. While Ransom is aware that the sisters are more than they seem, Lucky is convinced she's cursed with bad luck. Disasters seem to spring up at every turn, including when Ransom and Lucky tried and failed to date in college. Determined to help their godmothers, the couple discovers the spark between them still exists, but can they survive the gauntlet of the press, magic, and Lucky's unluck to earn their own happily ever after? VERDICT Romantic comedy and classic fairy tales combine for a delightful love story in this first of the "Fairy Godmothers, Inc." series from DeWylde (Big Bad Billionaire). Readers will discover what hilarious disaster--or famous character--lurks around each corner, as Lucky and Ransom navigate the quest to true love.--Kellie Tilton, Univ. of Cincinnati, Blue Ash
